Deeply drawn to the symbolic power of Australian flora and fauna, Julianne’s work is informed by a fascination with Aboriginal myths and creation stories. These cultural narratives, rich with meaning and connection, echo through her compositions. Her art seeks to capture not just the form, but the essence and personality of her subjects—be they birds, trees, or elemental forces within the landscape.

Relationships—between humans, nature, and one another—are a recurring theme in her practice. Julianne’s intention is to build a bridge between the artwork and the viewer, encouraging a quiet reflection on one’s own life, memories, and the emotional resonance found in the natural world.

Her creative process begins intuitively: a spontaneous dialogue between medium and surface. Layers build and interact freely before she gradually refines and shapes the image to bring focus and clarity. This balance between chaos and intention mirrors the stories she tells—fluid, layered, and deeply rooted in place.

Through her work, Julianne invites viewers to pause, observe, and connect—both with the subject matter and with their own lived experience.
